SecureFutures is a 3-6 month bridge program that gives aspiring cybersecurity talent the real on-the-job skills that they need to be ready on day one. How do we make that happen? With you. Partners contribute to the curriculum and we train the talent in that with some of the leading cybersecurity mentors in the area.

The Problem. Our Solution.

Let’s not kid ourselves. The problem with the trickling pipeline of cybersecurity talent is not the lack of candidates, it’s the lack of entry points for those candidates. Recent surveys show that new entry level cybersecurity roles see an average of 200-250 applicants per posting. Unfortunately from here, 90% of these applicants are usually marked unqualified and the role often just ends up going to someone with previous experience. This acts as a moat preventing more candidates to funnel into the field and only compounding the problem as more talent is needed to respond to ever growing threats.

Current programs attempt to address this a number of ways, mostly focusing on access to learning platforms and certification prep. While commendable these are still achievements often overlooked in the application process for a role.

Here is what we try to do differently. SecureFutures is one of the first programs that works directly with hiring managers to help build the curriculum of the program from which they plan to hire. You tell us what you are looking for in a hire and we train them in it. Once they are complete the program, you will have a team of “ready on day 1” candidates to select from. What better? All of our participants will be new to the field, swelling the pipeline of new qualified talent in infosec.

Participants receive coding/skills training, build their own original live projects, work with mentors, discuss current threats and, as a capstone, pass the bar of proficiency that you set. Our aim is to build a well rounded experience that would most closely reflect the experience you would look for in an ideal candidate.

Contribute

What does someone need to master in order to be an ideal candidate at your company? We will build our curriculum around these key skills and factors and put together a cohort of candidates that aspire to the role.

Watch

As candidates continue to learn and move through the program, you will have the opportunity to engage with them, review projects, and even help develop their skills.

Interview

At the end of the program, you will have access to screen/interview all of the candidates who have successfully passed the course.

Hire

Hire your candidate and pay a nominal placement fee per hire. Congrats!

Grow

It doesn’t end there. New hires may need additional professional development even after you onboard them, and we are here to help. We will follow up after your hire if you would like for us to continue to grow your candidates skills, or if you would like your company to sponsor a new SecureFutures cohort.
